Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data BlackLab collects through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese data protection law.
Who is responsible
BlackLab, based in Lisbon, Portugal, is the data controller for personal data submitted through this website. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, write to contact@blacklab.pt.
What we collect
Only what you send us. The contact form collects your name, email address, an optional phone number, and the content of your message.
This website sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and does not track you across other websites.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry and, where a project follows, to carry out the work you have asked us to do. The legal basis is your consent when you submit the form, and the performance of a contract once an engagement begins.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to an engagement are retained for as long as Portuguese commercial and tax law requires.
Who else sees it
Nobody, other than the people at BlackLab handling your enquiry and the service providers that host this website and deliver our email. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
Where a project requires it, information may be shared with the specific partners working on that project, such as architects, engineers and contractors, and only to the extent needed to carry out the work.
Your rights
You may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it. Write to contact@blacklab.pt and we will respond within thirty days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).
